Not sure what to say?

I didn't find out that our Steve was gone until the evening of our 40th Class Reunion....right before heading to the reunion. I always looked forward to a good conversation with him at the reunion. Steve glowed when bragging about his beautiful wife and kids. Needless to say, I was stunned and full of emotions at our Class Reunion. My heart aches just writing this, as it's my very late tribute to Steve and condolence to his family. Special Memories, Lynne Owens

I can't believe it's been a year. Miss you Steve.

Steve's many accomplishments and friendships are his immortal legacy. His passing is a loss to his family, the legal community, and to all had the privilege of knowing him.

Having gone to Humboldt State University and having played on the HSU tennis team, I knew two generations of Mitchell's. From afar, I say that Steve's impact on his family and his world is beyond words. I wish peace to all the Mitchell family. Steve was a golden force.

An amazing, kind person who will be dearly missed. Sending love and prayers to the Mitchell Family.

I will always remember with great fondness our trips home from Stanford together -- with Steve at the "helm" and always a stop at Mrs. Denison's for cookies. My condolences to Steve's family. He will be greatly missed.

Steve's warm gaze and great smile and a very special fishing trip with Steve and his dad Cliff on the Big Hole River in Montana remain in our memories. We are terribly sorry he is no longer with us.

We are so very sad..thinking of the Mitchell Family during this most difficult time..Hug's to Jan..remembering all the great time's at the Mad Mile! and all the fun our Families had! RIP Steve..Much Loved..Much Missed!

Still shocked and stunned of Steve's passing. Prayers to his family. Much love.
