STEVE M. PATEK, SR., age 70, beloved husband of 48 years to Sharane (nee Herniman); loving father of Steve Jr. (Kristine) and Chad (Stephanie); grandfather of Victoria, Cynthia, Julia, Andrew and Samuel; son of the late Elizabeth (nee Rohall) and Mike Patek; brother of Marge Novak, Betty Uhal, Anna Hvizdos, George, John, Bernie Stash and the late Andrew, Marie Lekavich and Matthew; uncle and great uncle of many. U.S. Army Veteran - Korea. Mr. Patek retired after a 41-year career at PPG Industries and was a life member of North Ridgeville VFW Post 9871 and proud member of their Honor Guard. He was an avid golfer and Pittsburgh Steelers fan. Passed away suddenly March 13, 2016. Funeral Mass Thursday, March 17, St. Julie Billiart Church (5500 Lear Nagle Rd., North Ridgeville) at 9 A.M. Interment with military honors at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery. Friends may call at CHAMBERS FUNERAL HOME of NORTH OLMSTED, 29150 LORAIN RD. AT STEARNS RD., WEDNESDAY 2-4 AND 6-8 P.M. The family suggests memorial contributions to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.

I worked with Steve 32 years at PPG. You could not meet a nicer person than Steve. He treated everyone the same. My deepest sympathy and condolence to his family. Sorry I was out of town and could not be there. I loved you as A co-worker and friend. Rufus A. Johnston A.K.A. Slm.

Steve was the first person I worked for at PPG and was a great mentor to me. He was a great guy and I learned a lot from him. I'm very sorry to hear of his passing.
