Steve Stine Steve Stine of Lake of the Woods, was born on December 17, 1946, and passed away on Wednesday, June 13, 2012.
He was preceded in death by his son Stephen F. Stine; his parents, Lorraine and McAdoo Stine; and his sister, Peggy Ann Caldwell.
He leaves to cherish his memory, a daughter, Culley Stine; sisters, Carol Swartz and Laura Mae Davis; brothers, Harry Stine and Anthony Stine; and his companion of thirteen years, Jane Davis and her children, Katelynn and Travis Davis. He also leaves behind numerous nieces and nephews and more friends than one could possibly count. Steve was a veteran of the United States Navy from 1965 until 1969. He served two tours in Vietnam on the USS Taylor. He retired from Verizon in 1997 after 28 years. A memorial service for close friends and family will be held 1:30 p.m. Thursday, June 28, 2012, at Timber Ridge Christian Church, High View, WV 26808-0066. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Lake of the Woods Fire and Rescue, 104 Lakeview Parkway, Locust Grove, VA 22508.
