Steve was my teacher in college. He was always a a friend. Later we were extension professor colleagues. Steve was the ultimate forester knowing almost everything and helping everyone. He was a Fellow of the Society of American Foresters...the highest peer honor. We worked together and I was honored to have him call me his friend.
