Steve Lamar Young

Steve Lamar Young departed this life suddenly on Tuesday, April 18, 2023, at his home in Mobile, Al at the age
of 57. He was preceded in death by his grandparents Mr. Herman and Susie Young, Zack Malley and Lasha McDougle, a host of aunts and uncles and grandson Saige Carter Pauley. Steve was educated in the Mobile County Public School System and was a 1985 graduate of Leflore High School. He worked as a maintenance operator for McDuffie Coal Terminal, and also worked in maintenance for Habitat for Humanity. Most recently he worked as a security officer with Swetman Security. Steve was an outdoorsman and enjoyed life. He loved cars and motorcycles, his prize possession his blue corvette. Steve enjoyed fishing and spending time with family and friends. In his earlier years he found his way to Stewart Memorial church with family and returned on many occasions and expressed a desire to reunite with his family of faith. He leaves to cherish his memories, his mother Barbara Ann Young; father, Robert (Dee) Young, Dallas, TX; children, AshlynPauley, Brittany (Quentrez ) Franks, Stevette Pauley, Denzell (Shanovia) Perine, Miami, FL, Jasmine Pauley, Avrian Pauley, Juvarius Koger, Steve Young Jr, Eric Jones; three sisters, Gigi Winborn, Kenyatta Young, both of Mobile, Elizabeth Young, Dallas, TX; two brothers, Robert Young, Waynesboro, MS, Stephen Young, Anaheim, CA; fifteen grandchildren, a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and close friends.
