Not sure what to say?

I miss Steve. As colleagues and "brothers" at our time at UMDNJ, I developed tremendous respect for him as a physician and as a man. I hope Phyllis is adjusting as best as possible. The world is a worse place without people like Steve.

I just learned about Steve’s passing from the DMU spring update. My prayers are with Phyllis, Alexa and the entire family. Steve and I were Chairs at UMDNJ-SOM and became good friends. I spoke with him periodically over the years and was to get together when the pandemic hit. Steve was a great doctor, a rock solid human being and a man who overcame adversity with great strength. I am so saddened by this news.

Elliott and I are deeply sorry for your loss, Phyllis. May his memory always be a blessing to you and your family. Love, Linda and Elliott

Steven and I were colleagues together at Kennedy Memorial Hospital, half a lifetime ago, in the 1980's. While it's obvious that he was brilliant, I feel the need to add, especially at this sad occasion, that it was a joy to work with Steve. He was insightful, kind, ironic and funny - I couldn't ask for better company.

My wife Merle and I send our condolences to Phyllis, Alexa and his entire family.

I just learned of Dr. Steve's passing. I am so sad and sorry to hear this. He was a wonderful doctor and put my mind at ease with his kindness and humor. Thinking of his family and friends and sending much love.

Doctor Steven was the sweetest man, the caring doctor and the kindest human being.
This loss left me, among so many other people, heartbroken and without a closure. I wish I could thank him from the bottom of my heart for taking such good care of me, his loyal patient.
Rest in peace our dear Doctor and a Friend...

Came as a complete shock to us. We loved Steve dearly and will always miss his self deprecating sense of humor. He was a wonderful family man, caring husband and father and truly great friend.

I’m so sorry for your loss. I am a first cousin to Steven. We had a wonderful reunion of sorts on the phone and had decided to get together when it was safe.
May his memory be a blessing.
