Steven ALWAYS said the funniest things...in ANY situation. Even when serious things were happening, he had a one liner ready to add some levity. It's a gift that his life was full of meaning bc he meant so much to so many. Our fragile world has lost an intelligent, kind, thoughtful and brave gentleman. He deserved an S on his chest and I can imagine him saying "for what? STEVEN? No I'd tell him like I am telling everyone now- it certainly would not have been a reflection of his name....

I had the pleasure of getting to know and work with Steven back in the 70s through the NC Jaycees. I secured a UNC signed basketball for him and we won a horseshoe tournament together.RIP old friend and praying for you and your family. Neil Price

Steve and I were hired by the Social Security Administration at the same time and attended training class together WAY back in 1991. I will always remember him as a valued colleague and friend. My deepest sympathies.
