Steven W. Bartok, 48, of Adamsburg, died Monday, April 8, 2002, in UPMC Presbyterian, Pittsburgh. He was born June 18, 1953, in Greensburg, a son of Rosan Hubich Bartok of Adamsburg and the late James A. Bartok, who passed away in June 1968. He was a grandson of the late Eva and Samuel Hubich and the late Mary and Steve Bartok. Steven was a member of St. Boniface Church, Penn, and was a graduate of Hempfield High School and Westmoreland County Community College. He was self-employed in previous years before receiving a heart transplant in August 1992. He was also a member of Camp Collyer in Center County and the local support group of CORE. Because he wished to be a donor himself, several organs were donated. In addition to his father and grandparents, he was preceded in death by an infant sister, Christine; and a brother, James A. Bartok Jr. In addition to his mother, survivors include a brother, James William Bartok of North Carolina; a sister, Cheryl Bennett of Cooperstown; a niece and godchild, Amanda; three godsons, John, Jordan and Hunter Jones; and the love of his life, Beverly Genetin of Greensburg. Also surviving are his godparents, Aunt Betty and Uncle Tony Vicic of Allison Park, Uncle William and Aunt Lillian Fink of Manor, Uncle John and Aunt Verna Hubich of Little Mountain, S.C., Aunt Elaine and Uncle James Borza of California, Aunt Anne Orange of Jeannette, Aunt Mary Bartok of Adamsburg and Aunt Catherine Fontana of Greensburg; and numerous cousins throughout the states. Friends received at the JOHN V. GRAZIANO FUNERAL HOME INC., 228 N. Second St., Jeannette, Tuesday from 7 to 9 p.m. and Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. A funeral Mass will be celebrated Thursday at 10:30 a.m. in St. Boniface Church, Penn. Interment will follow in St. Boniface Cemetery, Hempfield Township.
