Steven Roy Bratzel

I just saw the post that Steve had passed away a few days ago and I wanted to express my condolences to the family. In addition to basketball and football Steve played baseball and he was an amazing fastball pitcher. I was catching for him and it was his arm and bat that took us to the sub-state round in 1962. We had great fun as I think we were the only two seniors on the team. We saw each other sparingly at reunions but it was always good to visit. Mark Speas

I remember meeting Steve when I was just a little girl, I believe Sarah was a newborn. I met him in Oelwein. My parents became great friends with him and your mom, when they had the greenhouse. More importantly, Steve had the same passions of hunting and trout fishing as my folks did. I remember Steve and dad hunting and fishing like it was yesterday.
