In Virginia, we usually celebrate the coming of March because the buds and bulbs peek higher out of their beds with each warming day. But for our family, blustery March also brings the chill of loss and longing. We listen for your voice in the maelstrom, we search for your light in the darkness, and we pray that the path to peace and justice will remain clear and strong in those you left behind. Ten and a half years since your family and friends lost you but did not lose our memories. Jan and I still have one of your beautiful hand-painted bookmarks with a Ticht Han quote on our fridge. The Presence of Peace sculpture I made in your memory sits in front of your home, a home which hosts your wife and younger daughter and Sophie´s lovely daughter, Nya. Rest easy, my dear friend.
