Steven Wade Brogdon

Steven Wade (Steve) Brogdon, Sr., 55, of Valdosta, died at his residence on Saturday, March 30, 2013. Born in Valdosta to the late George Wesley & Patsy Brogdon, he was a lifelong resident of this area, and a graduate of Valdosta High School. Earlier in life, Steve was an active member of the Valdosta Jaycees and more recently was a volunteer with the Boy Scouts of America. For his career, Steve worked as a real estate appraiser for 25 years and he loved to hunt and fish with his sons and close friends. Steve had a passion for woodworking and welding- anything working with his hands, especially if it involved helping family and friends. Survivors include his wife of 33 years, Donna Brogdon, of Valdosta; two sons and a daughter in law, Steven Wade, Jr. & Christian Brogdon, of Ringgold, and Clayton Wesley Brogdon of Valdosta; two sisters and a brother in law, Brenda Tillman, of Augusta, and Jan & Doug Wheaton of Tampa; a brother and sister in law, David & Wendy Brogdon of Jacksonville, FL and a number of nieces, nephews, cousins, sisters in law, and brothers in law. A funeral service will be held for Steve at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, April 2, 2013 in the chapel of Carson McLane Funeral Home. Rev. Willie Beasley and will officiate. Burial will follow at Sunset Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday evening from 5 until 7 p.m. Flowers will be accepted or donations may be made to Park Avenue United Methodist Church, 100 East Park Ave., Valdosta, GA 31602.
