Not sure what to say?

Carruthers Family-
I am recently made aware of Steve's transitioning through the Michigan Alumnus magazine. I was Blessed to have known Steve at the University of Michigan and Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc. Steve was a great mentor, friend and decent basketball player (I could beat him anytime!). I'm sure I can speak for all the people who hung out on the "Wall" at UM, that Steve was a respected, fun, dependable, intelligent, friend, who let his actions confirm the Godliness contained...

My sincere condolences go out to the Carruthers family. As college students and young men my contemporaries and I looked up to Steve for his wisdom and leadership. I truly feel fortunate to have known him. He was one of the best.

"Saddened and heart broken from the news of my childhood buddy's passing. So many memories and good times; playing sports, talking, and laughing. Util we meet again.."

Steve was a team mate of mine on the Mean Machine softball team. Being a little younger than Steve he taught me a lot. What a genuine and caring man I found him to be. Steve was very competitive and demanded the best from his team mates. I am saddened to hear of his passing and do not know what happened, but his memory and friendship I will always treasure.
God Bless!

Steve was amazing. He had a smile and words of encouragment for everyone he knew. Steve was the smartest person I ever met. He made such an impact on my life that I named my first born after him. Steve was loved and will be missed.
