Steven C. Connery, 59, of 28 Lucy Avenue, Tiverton, RI, formerly of Middletown, RI, died Sunday, March 22, 2009, at home. He was the husband of Sandra (Perrotti) Connery. Born in North Kingstown, RI, on January 22, 1950, he was the son of the late Robert and Marjorie (Cook) Connery. Steven grew up in Middletown and was a graduate of Middletown High School, Class of 1969, where he also played football. He then spent four years in the Air Force, during the Vietnam War, as a C130 Mechanic. Steve then attended Johnson and Wales and received his Associates Degree in 1977. While attending school, he had worked at the Sheraton Hotel on Goat Island, the Marriott in Providence, as well as a Marriott in Hawaii for two years. He and Sandra first met in 1974, and later married in 1980. Together they moved to Tiverton to raise their family. Mr. Connery had worked for the past twenty years as a computer operator at NUWC. In 1992, he proudly received his Bachelors Degree of Science. He was very active with his children's activities, including Boy Scouts, Little League, and other sports. Before he fell in 2000, he was an avid surfer and runner. In 2003 he received a kidney transplant and was given a new sense of health and opportunity. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus and an active member of the DAV. Recently, his passion lied with studying alternative energy. Besides his wife of 29 years, he is survived by two sons Luke Connery, and Michael Connery, and a daughter Alyssa Connery, all of Tiverton, RI, and a sister Marjorie Mahoney of Falmouth, MA. He was also the brother of the late Robert J. Connery. His funeral will be held on Saturday, March 28, 2009, at 8:00 am from the Connors Funeral Home, 55 West Main Road, Portsmouth, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:00 am in St. Christopher's Church, 1584 Main Road, Tiverton, RI. Burial with Military Honors will be in St. Columba Cemetery in Middletown. Calling hours will be held Friday, March 27, 2009, from 4-8 pm in the Connors Funeral Home. Memorial donations may be made to the All Saints Academy, 915 West Main Road, Middletown, RI, 02842.
