Not sure what to say?

I only knew Steven slightly, from his days of playing football in Meriden,Ct. at the various pre-college levels; what a skilled and competitive talent. I still remember, to this day, a furious sideline tackle he delivered on one of our neighborhood friends. Boy, did we enjoy reminiscing that sideline highlight and having numerous laughter sessions, at the expense of our friend who took the hit. As for myself, it was one of the motivating factors of switching from football to basketball as...

How sad to think of a world without Steve. I bought his Inn at Sunday River and ran it as the Blueberry Mountain Inn with his help/comments/humor and helped him with his llama treks too. Sitting in the dark with light snow coming down, in his wood fired hot tub I heard him say he always felt like he was making stew by keeping the fire going. I send comfort to all who will miss him.

I also attended URI from Meriden, although a couple of years after Steve was there. His legacy was still talked about in football circles. I just went back to look him up and found that, in 1973, he became the first sophomore in URI history to throw nine touchdown passes in a season. He made URI proud that year, and with how he lived the rest of his life. RIP

Dear Eric, Susan, & Paul, Please accept my deepest condolences. What an amazing life led by a wonderful, incredible man. RIP, Beaver.

I was sorry to learn of Steve Crone passing. He was the quarterback of the 1971 football team that was a co champion with Conard of West Hartford. He played for the baseball team that lost to Naugatuck. He seemed to never give up as evidenced by his life time achievements as an adult. Rest in peace Steve.

I worked with Steve in the 1980's at Sunday River Ski Area. One day I saw Steve save the life of another. Moments before a dynamite blast Steve hollered to a person on a bulldozer to take cover. They did and moments later a rock the size of a dishwasher hit the seat he was sitting in and sent it flying for hundreds of feet. Steve saved his life. Exceptional awareness of the world and nature. Rest in Peace my Friend.

Sorry to hear this sad news. May he rest in peace.

My late husband and I met Steve at a cancer Trial in Fairfax Va. We passed the hours in conversations with this amazing man. This world is a better place because of his life. God´s peace to him in his next home. God´s blessings to his wife and the animals that he loved.
