Not sure what to say?

Steve and I met at a chess tournament hosted by Spring Lake Library when I worked there. We started playing chess together from that point. When I moved to Ohio, we began playing via email and he came up with our user names, Dark Knight for him and Snow Princes for me. To this day "Snow Princes" is my user name on Chess.com. Steve was a wonderful friend and helped me so much in my quest for chess knowledge. I will never forget him.

Condolences to Linda and family. I remember Steven growing up when we would visit. Fond memories. Terri (Green) Stoyka and family

Linda and family, Steve was so kind and having known him since I was 4 yrs old I can say I never heard him loose his temper. I am sure this time of loss is hard but I know you will have plenty of precious memories

We are so sorry for your loss. We remember him and and his mother at McGrath Church. Our thoughts and prayers are with you and your family.

Steve was such a kind patient soul. I'd say he was generous with his time & had a heart of gold. He will be sadly missed, but he is rejoicing in Heaven now. God Bless.

Always enjoyed chatting with Steve and his Dad when they stopped in to eat at the Cherokee. He was kind of a shirt tail relative of my wife Joanne (Jensen) who was also from Ludington. He was a special kind of man who left an impression.

We are so sorry for your loss. Steve was a kind and generous man. He would always share stories with us of his chess games. So while we were on vacation one year, we purchased and bought back a special chess board for Steve. He was so appreciative that he and his mom baked a pan of delicious lemon bars and brought them into our office for everyone to share. He will be missed.
