Not sure what to say?

Kind blessings to his family. Mr. Eich was a strong, helpful figure in the whirlwind of teen years at GBS in the 80s. I´m so thankful for his presence and teaching. I´m very sorry for your loss. I think of him now and again... he was a teacher that truly made a difference in a child´s life.

I´m so sorry for your loss. I have many fond memories of Mr Eich. I was a graduate of Fairview South School class of 1982. Mr Eich was my favorite teacher. I remember clearly when he handed me my Constitution test back and I got a 97. I was so happy because my sister class of 1980 received a 96. I was so happy that I got a higher score. He gave me a huge smile and a wink. Very endearing memory. Best wishes to all of you.

Just heard of Steve´s passing and I´m heartbroken. He was such a kind man. As a new mom teaching in Social Studies at GBS, Steve try to lift my spirits by hanging a picture of my baby Emily with an added mustache in a row of President portraits in the department common room. And when my second baby, Rachel, needed open heart surgery, Steve drove all the way to Christ Children´s Hospital to provide blood for a transfusion. I will always have a fond place in my heart for Steve and know that...

Terrible loss of such a great guy. Steve was always around my cousins house. Every party, picnic or family gather at Aunt Sissy and Uncle Frank´s house Steve was there. He was there so much I thought he was my cousin! Always took the time to give me a hard time and check in and see how I was doing. He truly cared. Unfortunately gone too soon, but never forgotten and always will be celebrated. RIP cousin Steve

Steve was a wonderful cousin. We shared many many holidays together with all 11 of our cousins. Birthdays ( almost every month as we all grew up), Christmas, 4th of July and or cours our annual Cuz Parties. We will all miss him. Special prayers to Nancy and the kids. God Bless them All.

Best way I can describe Steve--is he made you feel better every time you would be around him. A great coach and teacher and even better person ( there will be a column on steve that I wrote coming up in thursday sept 23 Glenview/Northbrook herald. it will be available on line. includes....many teachers at GBS comments on steve. R.I.P. great friend.

Teachers are not supposed to have favorites, but I must admit Steven was mine in Jr High. He was everything a teacher would love. I followed him at GBS when he was coaching basketball and what a wonderful role model he became. Also had fun running into him at Cub games. Always friendly and smiling. My prayers and thoughts are with Nancy and her family. Jane Mac. JrHi Physical Education Teacher

It was indeed an honor and privilege to have Steve in our family. A more honorable and courageous man I did not know. A wonderful husband and father he was. Totally dedicated to his family. We will miss him so much. We take comfort knowing that he suffers no more and is at peace.
