Dear Amy,
I want to offer you my sincere condolences for what has happened. I recently learned of Steve's passing this past Friday and was very saddened .
Steve was one of my major painting professors when I was in school. I graduated in 96. I took several of his classes and Steve was my motivation to become a painting major. Steve would often show me his paintings in his studio. He gave me good advice on how to go about making paintings and how to mentally approach making...

Amy, Ryan & Neil,
I was shocked & saddened to hear of Steve's passing. Although we hadn't been in contact for a couple years, I will always consider him a true friend. I met Steve years ago at Edinboro when he was a grad & I was an undergrad painter...he showed me how to build a stretcher. We continued to stay in touch when I left for grad school...he was always so helpful & supportive. I was overjoyed when he was hired permanently at Edinboro...such an excellent painter & great...

Amy, my name is Dale Rose, and my mother is Susan Weimer, longtime painting professor at Edinboro. She has been griefstricken, as have we all, at the news of Steve's death. "He was a fine painter," she said. "I am so sad for Amy and the boys."
Please accept our deepest condolences and prayers for your healing.

I was devastated when my friends at Edinboro told me about Prof. Emmett. He was my favorite drawing teacher because he was always kind to us and uttered so many words of encouragement. I enjoyed his class and feel that losing him is a great loss to all students of art. My sympathies go out to his family, we will all miss him.
