Not sure what to say?

I still often think about Steve, he was my former professor and became a great friend to me, we would spend a few hours a week chatting about anything and everything. Admittedly I may have hurt his work flow. We´d often talk about world cultures and we both had a great interest in Japan, him from having worked there and me interested in hearing his stories from when he worked there. When I graduated I didn´t want to go to graduation because I really didn´t think anything of it I wasn´t...

Professor Engel was one of the most amazing teachers I have ever had. I had failed statistics twice prior to taking his class and expressed how nervous I was to take his class and from the very start he was understanding, caring, and compassionate toward me. He went out of his way to help me and succeed and finally land that A. I went from failing introductory statistics twice to absolutely loving statistics. He was the reason I started to believe in myself and what I could do. I have never...

Steve was the best professor! He was such a blessing. Rest in Peace

I was so saddened to hear about the loss of Professor Engel. I only had the chance to be his student for a few months. In that short time that I was able to have him as a professor, he made me fall in love with Statistics and all shared with me all the opportunities it could provide me with. I am going on to take more classes, and I think about his class every time I go to do statistics. I feel so grateful that I was able to learn from him, and experience his way of teaching and the kindness...

My deepest sympathies to the Engel family. I had professor Engel for Statistics two years ago and just found out about the Steve's passing. Professor Engel impacted my life in more ways than I ever would've imagined. For a kid who never truly liked mathematics, I always found myself interested in his class. Professor Engel truly cared about his students lives. He stopped to say hello to me in the hallways and was there when I had a question or a concern. Professor Engel always made me feel...

So sorry to hear the sad news. Sending deepest sympathies from George Jeremiah. I worked with Steve in Geneva. He was a good friend.

Dear Tammy, Thank you for sharing this sad news via Linked In. I am deeply sorry for your loss. Steve was a great guy, a terrific person to work with and always up on the baseball stats. Totally a numbers guy. I had the privilege to work with Steve when he was at ABG. We even had a chance to hit a Blue Jays game when he was in Toronto and it was a great opportunity to get to know him a bit better outside of work. Over the years we ran into each other a few times when he was with Tokiwa...

So sad to hear of Steve's passing. He will always be remembered as an exceptional person both professionally and personally. My deepest sympathy and condolences to Steve, Tammy, and the who family.

I am so sad to hear about Steve´s passing at such a young age. I followed his education and career after he finished his MBA at WMU and taught at GVSU. He always impressed me. My thoughts and prayers to his family and friends. From Tucson- Roberta
