Not sure what to say?

I was saddened to hear that Steve passed away. He was my battle buddy at an exercise at Fort McCoy a few years ago. An awesome leader but a truly wonderful man. I am sure that he will be truly missed by all. COL Janet Riley

What an honor to know that a fellow CS colt in our c/o 1982, would rise to such an esteem rank in our US Army, protecting our country & soldiers.Ty for your amazing service dear soldier, may you truly Rest In Peace. Your classmates couldn't be more proud of you !!! Ty from the deepest part of my heart & condolences to your beautiful family, love a Navy Mom

I was saddened to learn of Steve's passing today. I had just spoken to him not more than a month ago to catch up with him. In 1990-91 a young "Bull" Eveker reported for duty in the Division Support Command of the great 24th Infantry Division (Mech) in the Saudi Arabian desert. Eveker family and friends, you are in my prayers. Brigadier General Eveker was a great leader to myself and every Soldier under his command. I served as a Company Commander then as a staff member at HQ during his tenure at the DSC. BG Eveker truly cared about his Soldiers and will be greatly missed.

Brigadier General Eveker was true American Patriot, leader, mentor and friend. I served as his Inspector General during his command at DSC. He was one the best commanders I have ever worked with in the Army. He will be missed. May God bless the Eveker family in this time of sorrow.

Germany 1982

I had the honor of teaching Steve at Coral Springs High, watching him run cross country and track, and taking him with a group on a Spring Break trip to East and West Germany. A greater guy you will not find. I am so sad that he is gone. Thankfully I was able to follow his life and career on Facebook and touch base every so often. Prayers and hugs to Julie and his family.

So many memories of Steve. Edgar Gjelvik had a special bond with Steve being war vetrans. Steve had the best humor and took good care of us gals .... Mardi Gras Parade and Bridal shower for Darlene. I remember he made sure nobody messed with us. I remember meeting Steve and my brother Eric telling me to mention Jackrussel Terrior in the conversation and watch the entertainment. Love and prayers to you Julie and the family, you and Steve will never be forgotten. Steve and dad are...
