Not sure what to say?

I use to babysit for Roger and Steven when they were little. Steven came for a visit and I had a chance to spend some time with him. To my regret I hadn´t kept in touch after Jim died. We have one of the masks he did while he was here. It´s been on my wall for all these years. I am not sure you will get this, but I wanted to try. I am very sorry for your loss, its late but sincerely ment. I have been in Homer now for 52 years. I just saw the obit today as I dusted the mask and thought of...

Steve was a great friend. We had many amazing adventures, I can't begin to recount. Camping in the winter woods at Lourdes camp, ski-trip to Maine, playing football together on the Wolcott Wolves, with John Castle as our coach and Amy's two brothers, John and Marty, on the team. He was a brilliant, creative kid. He took one Summer off to read the Classics. Lots of great memories. Sorry we lost touch. Life gets away from ya. Miss ya, Stevie.

Steve will always remain my best friend in life. He was a great friend in school. When needed, he was a reliable friend and a dependable worker in the oilfields in Texas, ND and Wyoming, Steve was always there to support me. We grew up together in a world torn by war and social unrest, and a society fragmented with politics nation wide. We ventured through great times and those not so great but we never gave up. Together we made a life for ourselves and crew working and dealing with...

Big Red and me

Together on oil rigs in West Texas we read and discussed Joseph Conrad,John Steinbeck,Kahil Gibran and that ilk. Texans thought us odd. We were hungry for TRUTH.we found pieces along the way...later bro

My first memories of Steven are from when he was a tiny boy, so blond and sensitive. Unlike most of our family I did not live near my family as our children and nieces and nephews grew.

So my memories are limited to family weddings, funeral and things like that. One time many years ago, Steven thanked me for a gift I had given him years before that, I couldn't remember the gift and I can't now, but I do remember him telling me how much that meant to him, and so I am grateful that...

Never have we met, but I feel the power of your life through this beautiful obituary. Thank you Anne Marie.

I feel an unbelievable sense of grief over Stevens passing. What does one say when they hear that a close friend of theirs from years ago dies?
Phrases like, I'm sorry, my condolences, my thoughts and prayers are with you don't seem to convey enough.
We were friends and neighbors in Syracuse and in Texas.
I will always remember Stevens eyes, so blue. When he would speak of artists like Georgia Okeefe for example, you listened but felt like you were swimming in the ocean when...

Sorry to hear about Steve passing. We'd grown up together and were best friends for a spell and had some memorable adventures. Once, at around 17 yrs old, somewhat lost and running out of food, in the Adirondacks in an unexpected late season winter blizzard for 5 or 6 days. I think even then he was already talking about how the Indians would handle it. Steve had been primary reason I'd migrated to Texas in 1979 to join him in the 'awl field', I'm still here and very glad for it, thanks to...

I knew Steve through Anne Marie's family vacations and get togethers. He was always a calm presence, relaxing and taking it all in as he sat out on a deck or near a campfire. My husband, Mike, and I have fond memories of him and the outdoor adventures he enjoyed. He will be missed.
