I am sadden and shocked to learn of the death of Steven Gradwohl. I just learned of his death today.
I was one of Dr. Gradwohl's many archaeology students at Iowa State. I remember Steven as a boy running around East Hall and how shocked and concerned we all were when David announced Steven's Hodgkin's diagnosis.
So it is with deep and profound sadness that I offer my condolences the extended Gradwohl-Mann family on the tragic and recent death of Steven Gradwohl...

I only this morning found out about Dr. Gradwohl passing after receiving a registered letter... words just can not express the sence of loss felt for this gifted physician, friend and genuinely sincere, all around great guy.
Dr. Gradwohl, you will never be replaced so you will clearly be missed.

After travelling on business for a month+, I too returned home Friday to find the UofM letter.

Dr. Gradwohl, simply, save my life--twice. The details are unimportant but his care and concern are unparalleled legacies.

Though we had played golf together in the past: I always respected him as a doctor, an officer and a friend by addressing him "Doctor, Doc or Sir".

The loss is immense, but the privilege of knowing him is a treasure.

I am sad today as I got home from work and there was a letter in the mail telling of Dr. Gradwohl's passing. Dr. Gradwohl was the best physician I ever had. He was always available when I needed to see him. With living 1 hour away he would always email/call me before making the trip down to U of M. I will miss his excellent care and his words of wisdom. Heaven has a great physician to work along side God. My thoughts and prayer are with the whole Gradwohl family.

I was notified today in the mail of the death, so please accept my apology for communicating in this venue. I met Steve when my wife asked her UM physician about finding a good doctor for her husband, me. I've had internal docs over the years, but never met someone who took an interest in me like Steve. We immediately hit it off when we shared stories about playing squash. Since I reside in Sylvania, OH, it was a 45 minute drive to visit him, but was convinced he was the right Dr for me, even...

I am sooooo sad today. I went to my mail box and learned of Dr. Gradwohl's death thru a letter from the U of M to his patients. Dr. Gradwohl was my physician for only a few short years. however, he made a GREAT impact on my life. I will treasure the advise and conversations we had during my exams in his office. He will truly be missed.

Rest in Peace, Dr. Gradwohl !

In recent years, Dr. Gradwohl was my biggest supporter on my road to better health. Heart felt prayers go to the family, close loved ones and coworkers who spent more intimate time with him. I will do my best to remember his words of wisdom and straight to the point practical advice.

He was a great and gifted doctor. My thoughts are with his family, friends, and colleagues. I will miss him.

I have known Steven's mother and father since I was a little girl in the early forties. Hanna was in our wedding and I have so many fond memories of childhood games, swimming at Hillcrest C.C., etc. Hanna and Dave have raised three outstanding children and my heart aches for the Gradwohl and Rosenberg families. May Steven rest in peace. This wonderful young man has contributed so much to humanity. My love and prayers are with you always.
