Steven (Steve) Dean Hummel passed away on February 16, 2022 at the age of 62 after a lengthy illness.
He was preceded in death by his parents Beverly (Quam) Hummel and Dean Hummel. He was also preceded in death by his grandparents on both sides, two uncles and an aunt.
Steve is survived by his sisters Rhonda Hummel (Cris), Terry (Bruce) Smith, Lisa Hummel (John). He is further survived by a niece, nephew and an aunt.
Steve grew up on the North Side of Madison. He worked at the iconic Bev's restaurant for many years and was treated like one of the family. Despite battling life long health issues he maintained a positive attitude, made friends easily and enjoyed socializing. Steve's family was extremely important to him.
The family would like to thank Abundant Life Manor, especially Sue for her devotion and guidance and to the caring staff at Heartland Hospice.
A private family gathering will be held.
Please honor Steve's memory by being kind to those who are less fortunate and always strive to be a better person, remember we are all fighting some kind of battle; compassion is a healing bridge.
