Deb - I was so saddened and shocked to hear of Steve's passing. I will always have good memories of him coming in the coffee shop with a smile on his face. He was "The Chess Man!" Our loss, is Heaven's gain. You and your family will be in my prayers.

I just found out about Steve's passing. I met Steve about 15 years ago and struck up a friendship with him. We were both single at the time and we spent many late nights shooting pool, drinking coffee and always laughing and cutting up. When I really got to know Steve I found him to be open, honest and just a guy who liked to laugh. Steve lived by Rule #62 and made me feel it too when I was around him. I would see him occasionally after he got married and I always ran over to say Hi to he and...

I will miss Steve very, very much. My three children called Steve "Uncle Dude" and will miss him, as well. What an inspiration that man was, and is, for me! He lived by the belief that if you treat people as they are, they will remain as they are, but, if you treat people as they could be, then they will often times become what they should be. Even though we had only known eachother for these past two weeks, I wanted to express my gratitude and gratefulness toward you.
