Not sure what to say?

I knew Steve in the 1970's when I was a counselor at HCC, and have visited him several times in the last few years. He was passionate about education, HCC, and people as human beings. Steve saw the best in others and he will be missed.

I have known Dr J for over 45 years as a Business Law prof, poker player, fast pitch softball teammate, and fellow Rotarian. Never a dull moment or boring conversation with Steve, he truly was one of a kind. My deepest sympathies to Steve's family. RIP Dr J.

Our prayers and condolences Matt and family, Steve was a wonderful person, had many great talks with him at Rockford Coin, so sorry for your loss Matt, Billy and Angela Pappas..

Matt, Thoughts and prayers to you and all of your family. Your dad was a great person.

I have had the pleasure to serve with Steve on the Northwest Central Labor Council for the last few years. It is a vital function that he has performed for years. Steve was always engaged with the local community. He has served Northern Illinois for years at Highland Community Collège. He will be missed by his many friends and acquaintances.

We are so sorry to hear of Steve's passing but we are thankful he is now out of pain and at peace. As a fellow teacher, I have many great memories of our interactions at HCC. We worked together and we played together. There are so many memories of the good times and the fun parties we had with Steve. He will be greatly missed. I pray that all the good memories will give you comfort at this difficult time.

He was the most unforgettable professor I ever had. Always seemed up-to-date with knowledge to share on any topic that came up.

Loved my business law class with “Jennings” way back in 1970 at HCC. Then we all went to Mopes for a beer and cheese sandwich. Stayed in touch thru the years at the coin shop and could never beat him in Trivia at the bowling alley. Friend with Dr. Jennings for many years and remembered fondly. My condolences to the family. Jim, HCC class of 71

Steve will be missed dearly. Great Person to speak too dealing with bullion, Economy and the Govt. I would come in and see him sitting in the chair and strike up conversations with him for a long time on many different issues. Rest in the Next life.
