Not sure what to say?

Dear Cynthia and Boys.

I stayed with Steve in Washougal when I was first hired at Horizon and remained his friend. He was a truly remarkable man. His infectious personality made one feel unique and special. I doubt he knew it, but he provided me many cherished life lessons.

I will miss him. Rest in Peace.

So sad to hear about your loss Cynthis & especially for your sons. My thoughts & prayers have been for you all since I heard the news. So unfair.
love, Sheila

I met Steve while touring through the U.S. in 1997, and took up a spot on his couch for a year! We had a great time playing golf and working on his houses and boats, he was an amazing guy to spend time with, and his resourcefulness and can-do attitude was so infectious. The time I spent with Steve and Cynthia were some of the happiest of my life and I will miss him dearly. He will always hold a place of pride in all the stories about the great times I had while travelling the world. I'll miss...

Our deepest condolences to Cynthia, Evan and Brady. Our thoughts are with you.
From the Conway-Brunkow clan.

Steve and I flew together at Horizon. I have never flown with a more gifted pilot that simply had, "the touch" for an airplane. Flight training in airplanes in the middle of the night always brought challenging situations and Steve always found a way to make the night fun. In our current Ops Center ground school classrooms, his legacy lives on with the rear screen projector he helped design and build. I'll always think of Steve as Cool Hand Luke.
SeaPeace to you my good friend.

From the peripheral I would like to have it be known that you don't have to know a person well to be touched. I am a friend of Alex's. I heard so many things about this man, and when I met him, knew he was one in a million. I am very sorry for the loss. Rest in peace beloved friend.

Sorry I can't be there in person to communicate my condolences, traveling on business. Steve was a good friend to me, always available no matter what I needed. Sailing on Seapeace with him, under power or under sail, was always an adventure and is where I'll remember him most at home, and happiest.

Warmest wishes to Cynthia, Evan, and Brady.

I always considerd Steve my best friend; I loved and cherished every moment with Steve, even though it had been far too long since we had talked. From swimming around in concrete while working on the house in Pacific, to sailing on the Pacific with him, he was a kind and generous soul who always wanted to help people and make their day a little brighter.
As a cook he was unrivalled in turning mouldy cheese and some other scraps into a feast. As a DIY expert he was very capable of making...

Cynthia,

We are so sorry to hear about Steve's passing. We had lost touch with each other for a long time. And then Jerry noticed your post on Facebook tonight about Steve's memorial service. We are shocked and very sad for you and your boys. It sounds like Steve had been ill. I remember him as a very easy going, gentle guy with a beer in his hand at parties. Steve seemed to take big things that would intimidate others in stride. "Sure, I can buy and manage a bunch of properties,...
