Steven Kaminski

I remember Steve from the old neighborhood, and the Creston Days. He was one of the nicest guys I knew, and loved seeing how successful he had become as a Sports Writer for the GR Press and later, MLive. We reconnected a few years ago and Steve was the same classy, friendly guy he was when we were kids. All of our lives are better for having had Steve in our lives. Peace to you, Steve. Condolences to all of the Kaminski family.

Steve and I worked together over so many years at Michigan High School Final Events and as always so much fun to enjoy the times we had toghether. I first meet him when he came to the GR Press as a reporter. We shared so many histories and I am glad I got to know him and his reporting. The memories will always be with me. I wish the blessings of his work will always live on here in Wearern Michigan and the Grand Rapids area.

I've known Steve for many years as a friend as well as having had the pleasure of working with him on stories covering open-wheel racing events and both historic and contemporary racing personalities. He did a wonderful story on our Inaugural Open-Wheel Racing Fan Club Michigan/Great Lakes lecture series event at the Gilmore Car Museum this past March. We just talked last week about the upcoming March 5, 2023 event. Steve was fun to work with, and of all of the racing journalists work...

Deeply saddened to hear of Steve's passing. He was always quick with a smile in the many press boxes we shares during my time broadcasting HS football games in west Michigan. Steve was passionate about local sports and his voice will be greatly missed.
