Steven M. Lamson – 47, passed away at his Main Street home in Montpelier on Sunday, March 13, 2005. Born in Montpelier on April 27, 1957, he was the son of Leona (Fuller) Lamson and the late Stanley C. Lamson Sr. Steven was previously married to the former Lynn Mason.

Steven was a 1974 graduate of Harwood Union High School in Duxbury. He joined the Vermont Army National Guard in January 1975 where he served with Battery A - 1st Battalion 86 Field Artillery in Waterbury until January of 1981. Upon discharge, Steven was employed by A.G. Anderson Concrete in Waterbury until 1988, worked as a carpenter for Huntington Homes of Berlin and later worked along side his father for Construction Inc. of Stowe for several years. He later started his own furniture building business and was a local taxidermist. In his leisure time, he enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, watching stock car racing and was a former member of the Waterbury American Legion.

Steven is survived by his children, Amy L. Lamson and her companion, Bryan Longe of Waterbury, and Shawn S. Lamson and his fiancé, Brooke Lamell of Berlin; 3 grandchildren, Makaylin Longe, Keegan Lamson, and Brock Lafrance; his mother, Leona Lamson of Waterbury; 3 sisters, Lisa Jennison and her husband, David of Waterbury Center, Lori Fisk and her husband, Randy Sr. of Waterbury Center, and Lynn Commo and her husband, Don of Montpelier; 2 brothers, Stanley Lamson Jr. and his wife, Diane of Stowe, and Scott Lamson and his wife, Mary-Ellen of Waterbury Center; several nieces and nephews; and Jennifer Jacques, whom he thought of as a daughter and her daughter, Kylie Duffy.

A service to celebrate Steven’s life will be held from the Waterbury Congregational Church on Friday at 11 a.m. There will be no calling hours. Later inurnment will take place in the Waterbury Center Cemetery. The family requests that flowers be omitted; rather memorial gifts would be appreciated to the American Cancer Society, PO Box 1460, Williston VT 05495. I have been best friends with Shawn's fiance Brooke for 27 years and have come to know and care about Shawn since they have been together. I met Steve a few times and just want to pass my deepest sympathy to Shawn, Amy and the rest of Steve's family. I cannot imagine how hard you are all hurting and am glad you have such a strong loving family to see you through.
