Mission: To provide emergency shelter and support services to survivors of domestic violence throughout Northeast Ohio.

We will be forever grateful for the work that Mr. Latourette did to empower survivors of abuse and the agencies that serve them. May he rest in peace knowing that he made a difference.

Steve was a Great American and Served N.E. Ohio even before his time in the United States Congress. In recent years I had the opportunity to meet him in Painesville, Ohio when he was having a press conference announcing his own retirement from Congress. He seemed to be a friend to many in politics no matter party lines. Some have called the late Ted Kennedy a Lion in the Senate, Steve was a truest form of a Lionhearted Patriot in his public life and service.

Steve was always thoughtful and willing to listen and advise. He worked for me in the 80's as our township atty and his ability to handle our concerns was spot on! I will miss him!

I know Steve as a friend, not a politician. We went to the same junior high school, high school, and college. He was intelligent, witty, and kind. He has made a positive difference in the lives of many. My heartfelt condolences to the entire LaTourette family.

Congressman Latourette used to frequent my parents' restaurant in Concord, Ohio and was always very kind to them. I had the pleasure of hearing him speak at a Republican Party event at the Mentor Harbor Yacht Club a few years back. When I greeted him he, of course, asked me how my parents and the restaurant was doing. A congressman who genuinely cares about their constitutents as much as Mr. Latourette did is a rare find. God Bless.

I would like to send my condolences to the LaTourette family in VA and in Cleveland. I have worked with Steve's sister now for 14 + years and my heart is saddened for the entire family. I will keep all of you in my prayers!

Steve was an absolutely wonderful person.I have known him since he was a Lake County Prosecutor. He was honest and one of the most caring people I have ever known. He was a good friend and was always there if I needed help on an issue. Steve will be missed. God bless Steve and his family.

My Mom and Jo Latourette were best friends. I have knwn Steve since we were children. As an adult he helped me with a few legal matters. I knew him as a very caring person. It was a honor to know him.

Steve was tops in our book when it came to being the Lake County Prosecutor as well as Congressman from our district in Ohio when my wife and I lived in Mentor. He was a, "class act" in every sense of the word. United States lost a great human being and politician when he died. Deepest sympathies to his family.
