I knew Steven over 50 years ago when we were both serving as General Medical Officers in the Seattle USPHS Outpatient Department. Together with Tom Yazman, MD (sadly deceased) all three of us had many adventures outside of work during this time . We named ourselves informally as `The Three Musketeers´ . So sorry to hear of Dr. Meyer´s passing. He was my eye doctor for over 20 years and saved my eyesight after an injury in 1980. I hear "Is that better, or is that better?" in his voice to this day. He certainly pursued his dreams. I will never forget him.
