Steven Charles Moldenhauer

Obituary

Moldenhauer Steven Charles (Moldy Ramone)Moldenhauer, age 42, of Mpls. Beloved husband, son, brother, uncle, stepfather, and friend passed away peacefully in his home on Sunday, July 27, 2003 after a valiant 3 1/2 year battle with melanoma. Steven is survived by wife Tanya Moldenhauer of Minneapolis, parents Donald and Delores Moldenhauer of East Bethel, brother David Moldenhauer of Blaine, sisters Karen Moline, (her husband Tom Moline and nephews Taylor and Daniel), of Buffalo and Connie Moldenhauer of Anoka, and stepson Andrew Bibeau of Arden Hills. Steven grew up in East Bethel, attended St. Francis High School and MCAD, and was employed at Heinrich Envelope of Golden Valley. He was a truly kind individual, a talented visual artist who was an avid collector and painter of resin model kits and did artwork for local artists cd's and posters, he was an inspired vocalist in his former band The Strappin' Daddy Oh's and two other tribute bands, and he was often found jumping onstage to do vocals with many other bands. Many of the wonderful people he was blessed to know were found through his postings on TCPunk where he won their hearts through his humor and the telling of the trails and tribulations of his cancer. He was also a regular attendant at Punk Karaoke and holds the honor of being their first champion. His huge hugs, warm smile, and quick wit will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him. The family would like to thank Dr. Ibele, Dr. Schneider, Jerry, Martha, and Gretchen of Hospice of the Lakes, and the many friends who gave their support physically, mentally, and emotionally to Steve throughout his illness and all the people who worked on his benefits, you have all been most kind. Memorial Service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, August 9 at Lakewood Cemetery Chapel with a reception to follow at The Cremation Society of MN, 4343 Nicollet Ave, Mpls. 612-825-2435

Not sure what to say?

At times, it feels like Steve left us only yesterday, but not 10 years ago! It just can't be!! His journey with cancer is still too fresh in my mind. I will always cherish the time I had with him and the life lessons I learned along the way. I still hear little things about him from others that are new to me and it never ceases to put a smile on my face and a tear in my eye. I am proud to be able to say I am Steven "Moldy Ramone" Moldenhauer's little sister.

He was certainly loved by...

Didn't know Steve that well, even though I lived next door to you guys, I was abit older, but I knew your mother Delores real well. She was a sweet heart. I'm sure the two of you are at such great peace. Wish I could have known you.

Hey Steve! You might be surprised how often I miss you, and Joe Berglund. I've learned that good friends like you and Joe are hard to find, and I learn anew every day how much was lost with your passing. Wish you were still here with us.

November 24th... it's getting to be that day again. Steve would have been 50 years old this year. Would have loved to have a big ol' party for him! Of course it would have been pretty low-key for his taste, but I know he would have just grinned and took it all in anyway.

Steve is in my thoughts more than I realize. I see First Avenue & 7th Street Entry five days a week and some little thing will come to my memory. It always puts a smile on my face. I keep looking for "Moldy...
