Not sure what to say?

Steven,

It is hard to believe a year has gone by so quickly. I know that those that shared your life struggled yesterday to find sense in your passing. I am sure like me, they found it difficult to find a reason why you are no longer with us.
I found myself talking to you out loud perhaps hoping that you would answer. Whenever I had a big decision to make I would "run it by you" and usually you gave me lots of great advice to make the right choice. I would like to think you...

Babe,
There are so many feelings in my heart right now as the time approaches for me to leave Rhode Island. As a new journey begins in just another week, I can't help but think of the past 3 years and what those years have meant for me here in this beautiful state.

You are my most beautiful memory and my greatest joy. The friendship and the love we shared will always be with me wherever I go.

Someone asked me the other day what was the biggest lesson learned,...

My Dear Steve,
Because Jesus died at Calvary and then rose again on the third day, you and everyone else that has died in HIM are also alive with Him today. EASTER takes a whole new meaning for me this year as I think that, because of that day 2009 years ago, we have the assurance of one day being with you again. For those who die in Christ, death has no eternal consequence.
I still miss you dearly and I look forward to that day of joyful reunion.

We will once again...

Steve,

I was driving down Rt.2 yesterday and looked through the woods and saw Camp Ok-Wa-Neset. I immediately thought of one of the staff nights we had when all the counselors were playing "commandant". We sort of teamed up and in trying to get back to "base" we came face to face with a skunk! I'll never forget that night. Hey, we made it to base too!!

With fond memories,
Kristen Cobb (Mitchell)

Steve, you will always be remembered as one of the most remarkable people I have ever known. You made the Y spirit real to so many of us. We will always keep the red, blue, green, and yellow close to our heart.

Happy birthday Uncle Steve! It still feels like you're here. I really wish you were so we could celebrate this day with you like every other year in the past. It feels weird not going in with Amanda to buy you a birthday present.
We all miss you more than you could ever fathom, and I know you're watching over us each and every day.
Love Krystal

SJN,

Nine years ago last week, we sat by a pool sharing a beer and great conversation at one of our many YMCA trainings together. I remember what we spoke about clear as day, our mortality and our legacy.

Not many people have lived through an experience like ours, losing a colleague and friend in a tragic accident (only those from our Kent County family know that pain). I remember us questioning whether or not people would remember us when we were gone the way they remembered...

Uncle Steve,
It hasn’t even been a year since we lost you but it feels like a lifetime. You are talked about every single day by so many different people whose lives you have touched. The whole family being up in Vermont made me think about you even more this weekend because your fun-loving, childish spirit was what made Vermont fun. All the greatest memories I have of that house: playing Sardines, tubing in the back yard, playing board games on the dining room table and racing off to...

Steve,

I kept debating whether to write in your guest book or not, but something kept telling me to write. This time last year we had already spent several joyful weekends together, talking, laughing, having fun and looking forward to more fun weekends. Although I have gone on with my life, I have so many memories of us. Valentines Day, your B-day and Easter are coming up and I will always remember those special days we spent together.

God bless the lives you touched and I...
