Not sure what to say?

I did not learn until today (while reading David Oreck´s obituary) that Steven had passed away in 2019. I knew Steven at MIT and I even took an aerospace engineering class because of Steven´s interest in the subject. I extend my deepest sympathies to Steven´s family. He will be sorely missed by everyone who knew him.

Still think of Dr. Oreck and what an outstanding individual he was.

Best doctor ever. I had no idea how diverse he was. We should all have that passion for life. What a beautifully written obituary.

So sorry to hear this. He was a fabulous person and doctor, gifted dexterity and could put patience at ease with his humor and gentle manner. I think of him so fondly. Sympathies to Kaaren and family.

As a 4th MARDIV Surgeon for decades, I interfaced with Steve at conferences and exercises all over the world. Intelligent, disciplined, resourceful, upbeat, and an esteemed Battle Buddy, Steve was the top of the line in the proud Navy-Marine Corps team. Beyond family and friends, the nation has lost a gallant patriot.

I served with Capt Oreck in Fleet Hospital 23. He certainly had a great sense of humor and was a wonderful teacher and mentor. FAIR WINDS AND FOLLOWING SEAS. WE HAVE THE WATCH. HM1 GRINNELL, USN RETIRED

I Worked For Steve In Oakhurst NJ Till He Moved To Madison! It Was My Honor To Have Known Him! Rest In Peace! Condolences To Kaaren & Family ❤

Farewell and following seas to one of my favorite Navy Green-Side medical buddies. The good he did in his lifetime has left a miles-wide wake of health and happiness in innumerable sailors, Marines, and sand crabs.

Dear Kaaren, we are so sorry for your loss. hugs and love to you--Robin Chapman, Will Zarwell
