Not sure what to say?

Giving thanks once again at Christmas for my teachers, I found this notice of Prof. Ozment's passing. I know he had health battles for some years and this is a "graduation." But what a brilliant teacher, interpreter and raconteur. In the 1980s, I took his class on Reformation Europe as part of my Harvard ThD program in church history and - as seminary teacher and pastor - I still benefit from his insights. Prayers uplifted!

I am extremely sad to hear about Professor Ozment's departure. I have very fond memories of the course on German History he taught in Venice at the Ca' Foscari-Harvard Summer School in 2006. It was pure joy to engage with him in discussions on topics ranging from Arminius to Angela Merkel. May he rest in peace.

Sleep in Peace Wreath

Just saw the obituary in today's Globe and had to send condolences to Amanda, a former journalism student of mine at Masconomet Regional. I was totally unaware of your father's impressive background and send my best wishes at this time of sorrow and reflection.

As an art history PhD student I only took one course with Dr. Ozment, but in many ways it taught me more about the history side of art history than the rest of my courses. I think of my experience often and it has helped shape me as a scholar and teacher.
