Not sure what to say?

Carol and girls (as I remember you),
I am very sad to hear of your loss. Steve left his mark on a great many lives, mine not the least. I owe a lot of who I am as a scientist, but more importantly, as a mentor, husband, friend, and father, to Steve's influences on me during my time at UCHC. I will never forget him.

Please accept our most sincere condolences on the passing of Steve. He
was a great friend, scientist and human being and I cherish my encounters with him in Bangalore and Hartford.

Carol, our thoughts and prayers are with you and your family. Steve was a great contributor to the FVSO in so many ways, the least of which was the sparkle in his eye every week. We will miss him.

The news of his death was a shock to me. Though I didn't meet him in person, his activities spoke well of him as a dedicated scientist worthy of emulation. My condolences to his family and colleagues.

My sincere condolences to Steve's family. He was a great mentor to me and I will always remember him.
