Mr. Steven Brian Pope

Funeral services for Steven Brian Pope, 46, of Spring Garden will be Friday at 11:00 a.m. at Thompson Funeral Home with the Rev. Brent Poole and Rev. Jay Daugherty officiating. Burial will follow at Union Grove Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Thursday from 6-8 p.m. Mr. Pope passed away March 10, 2012 at his home. Survivors include his wife, Tina Coleman Pope; three daughters, Charlese Hannah, Calla Louise and Stephanie Briann Pope; his mother, Sue Pope; one sister, Karen Morris (Homer); and a nephew, Matthew Gage Pope all of Spring Garden; his mother and father-in-law, Chuck and Margie Coleman of Cedartown, GA; and several aunts, uncles and cousins. Pallbearers will be Matt Pope, Kevin Hunt, Tim Studdard, Paul Rogers, Jimmy Brown, Chuck Coleman, Brian Fortenberry and Craig Jones. Honorary pallbearers will be members of the Spring Garden Volunteer Fire Department. Steve was a lifelong resident of Spring Garden. He was a 1983 graduate of Spring Garden High School and was also a graduate of the Coosa Valley Technical College. He was employed at Hon Industries for 29 years, was the owner of Pope Construction and was a member of the Spring Garden Volunteer Fire Department. He was preceded in death by his father, Rodney Pope. In lieu of flowers the family suggest memorial contributions to the Spring Garden Voulunteer Fire Department.
