Not sure what to say?

Dear Sarah, Steve will always be in our heart. I think of him often when reflecting on the kindnes and generous spirit of those in our profession. Steve was an examplar for us all - always giving of himself - his time and incredible knowlege. And so in love with you! And we are forever in love with both of you. Debbie

I STILL reference Steve and his dedication to NARA's preservation mission in conversations with colleagues both new and old. And when I'm searching for the courage to stand up for the tenets of our archival oath, thinking about Steve pushes me with forward without reservation. He will forever impact those colleagues fortunate enough to have known him.

I often think of Steve and of the legacy he left as a warm, creative, and curious person who is still missed. Steve was a loving husband, son, brother, and friend. He also made many professional contributions in the areas of photograph preservation and imaging that continue to benefit his colleagues around the world.

Steve lives on in the hearts of his family and the many friends and colleagues whose lives he touched. His life was too short, but he was one of those people who made a difference. His professional contributions and writings are a lasting legacy, but equally important are the personal qualities he shared...friendship, kindness, humor, and a beautiful curiosity. Thinking of you, Sarah.

Dear Sarah, I send you from Colombia my regards and best wishes. I have fond memories of you and Steve from my time at LOC. I hope you are doing well. Take care of yourself in these complicated and difficult times...

It's hard to believe that so many years have passed since Steve's passing. I think of him often, and of course he comes up regularly in conversations with Sarah. Steve is remembered by many friends and colleagues for so many reasons...he was a good friend and an expert in photography and imaging who willingly shared his knowledge and passion with everyone. Steve was smart and funny..and a gentle soul who always will be missed.

I will always have very fond memories of Steve. It was such a pleasure to work on the 1979 KRHS yearbook with him (we were both photographers) and then to room with him for freshman year at RIT. Amazing how quickly time has gone by. 34 years since I have seen or spoken with Steve. I will never forget him and will always consider him a friend. RIP Steve I enjoyed the time I spent with you and you will always be missed.

My deepest condolences to Sarah and Steve's family. Steve was a great friend to me! I met Steve in 1994 when I started working at the Archives. He always made time to help me out or teach me about technologies. We shared many conversations, and coffees together over the years. Steve was a brilliant, friendly, humorous, and caring person. I will always have found memories and be thankful for all he taught me. I'll miss you Steve!

May he always rest in peace.a job he did & did well.a husband to be so proud.
