Not sure what to say?

I went to the Reserve Police Academy with Steve in 1989. We both went on to work in a field where it chooses you, not the other way around. I eventually left policing and found new purpose working with Oregon DOC for past 21 years. My heart aches each time I hear another blue life lost. May the blessings you shared forever hold you tight.

I am so sorry to hear of your loss! I remember Steve fondly when he became interested in policing and would come into my office and talk about opportunities in police service. In fact recommending to him to take civil service exams in the larger communities throughout Washington. I knew several exceptional young women and young men who participated in our Explorer Scout Program and Reserve Officer Program who later became officers representing their respective communities. I didn't know Steve the way all of you were blessed to know him, but to say that Steve had a heart of gold for others suffering is a gigantic understatement. Your loss is a profound and tragic. I am praying for you all. God is good! His gift of Steve to so many will remain in the many lives he impacted. Steve's legacy of family nor his...

Kathy and family, I am so very sorry to hear of Steven's passing and of course Kris and your Mom. May God surround you with healing and hope in the coming weeks and may your memories comfort you. My hurt hearts for you and thoughts are with you. XO Nancy (DeMond) Totten

Paul My sincere condolences for your loss of Barbara and Steven. God bless you and yours!

My thoughts are with Steve's family and friends. We lost touch after Shadle other than a few friendly exchanges on Facebook, but I was so proud to witness his career from a distance. Wishing your kind soul the peace you seek.

Paul, Deanna, Kathy and Family ... What a touching and beautiful tribute to Steve! Our hearts ache for you. You have had to endure such sorrow and yet continue to show incredible strength beyond words. You know how much we care and our thoughts and prayers are with you. God bless you and all the Angels watch over you. So much love, Terry & Gene
