Not sure what to say?

A truly unique and memorable person! I always listened for his unique voice. He also defined loyalty. Red Cross volunteers were fortunate to know him! My life was enriched. I have wonderful memories. Missing Steve.

Can't believe it's been this long since Steven has been gone. I can still hear his unique voice & see his face. A most memorable person. Lived his values. Can't ever forget him.

I remember Steve Rooks quite well as we had many conversations over a period of several years at SRI and in the Menlo Park community. He was remembered for jogging and praying. Many of us are sending prayers to him on the other side, but Steve is also sending prayers and blessings to us from the other side. John M. Akers

Godspeed Steve and sleep well. The measure of your life is reflected in all of those you leave behind; especially those you rendered first aid to. I will miss your humorously sarcastic comments about poison oak, ticks, and other hazards to runners while supporting the Red Cross during the Double Dipsea races. The final lap is done and now it is time to rest. We will carry on for you.

The memories from this Red Cross brother are vast. We tracked him down in the middle of his Alaska trip the last time we 'lost" him! He was tireless, genuinely devoted, dependable & always mentoring in that gentle manner so uniquely Steve. He maintained a remarkable energy throughout his health battles & his strong faith sustained him.I admired & respected him. My heart goes out to all of his families, including the extended ones he always remembered. He is finally resting in peace with God,...

I always enjoyed working first aid stations with Steve. He was always so helpful and ALWAYS had a smile on his face.

Our condolences go out to the Rooks Family. I was fortunate to know Steve at SRI and at North Valley (now LifeGate). God Bless!

Steve was a very good friend at PBC (circa 1970's) and SRI (until recently). He will be missed.
