Not sure what to say?

Phil, Evelyn, Jed and Beth, Lorrie, Brian and Julie:

I guess I have been putting off writing this in hope of understanding why Steve was taken from us so early in his life. After searching for answers, I believe now that Steve's passing is not something you can ever understand, but is something you can only accept. It is only with acceptance that I can truly get on with remembering him in the way he would want to be remembered.

I lost a best friend, a brother ... a...

we were fortunate to have known you

Gee, we thought that we knew that Steve had a lot of friends and colleagues, but HOLY COW! ...I'm not sure if any of us realized just how many, judging in part by everyone at the memorials. Of course it's not so much the quantity as the quality of the relationships... Special folks like Steve (with his great smile) break the mold. Surely we will not only miss him dearly, but will often take courage, perhaps at the most unexpected times, from his sense of humor, kindness and optimism. ...

Phil, Evelyn, Jed, Lorrie, Brian and Julie:

While we are crying, Steve is entertaining the angels. Steve was a wonderful and truly unique person, who touched and positively affected so many lives. Where ever he went, he brought joy and laughter and he will continue to do so as long as we hold his memory in our hearts and share it with everyone we touch. You should be commended for all that you did to shape his life into the outstanding person he became. Our lives have been so...

Dear Julie,
We loved Steve being a part of our family. My (now grown sons) had the wonderful fun, and love that Steve brought to all of us. The holidays were special with him being a part of them. Steve brought our family love, charm, interesting times and memories that will never be forgotten. Danny, David and Dustin will always remember the pool games, going for walks after Thanksgiving dinners and the laughter that was always a part of our family celebration. We love you and know that...

Dear Ruegg family, Please know that we are all very sorry for your loss. Steve was a great person in general. He Loved, Laughed and lived much. Everyone who came in contact with Steve could feel it. I not only had the honor of working with Steve in the Jack Gaughen office I also knew him from Kwik way when I worked there many years ago and he would come in there and rib me from time to time. He had an infectious smile that made you want to smile back. He will be greatly missed by all. Your...

Dear Mr. and Mrs. Ruegg and family,
You have our deepest sympathies over your loss. I knew Steve for 35 years and always looked forward to running into him around town. He always took the time to ask about myself and my family and never failed to make me feel a little better about this world that we live in. He was quite a guy and we're all going to miss him greatly. Know you are in our prayers.
