I only knew the Samuelsons through stories from my mother and when we met up with our bostons, but I only remember good of Steve and send my prayers to the family. May peace and clarity be with his family in these trying times.

You and your family are in my prayers. Alan Davidson

Steve and I go way back. Our band was "The Grape Jam" taken from a Moby Grape album. The band even had matching turtle neck died purple. Quite a sight. Since we were both named Steve, he got stuck with "Sam". Grape Jam didn't have many gigs but as it turned out that really wasn't the point. We just had alot of fun playing. Norman B Barr was one of our last gigs. Steve was an old friend and I'll miss him.

I remember when you and Steve first became a couple. I could just “sense” that you two were made to be together. What a blessing to have enjoyed 34 years of an extraordinary, loving marriage and partnership. You and Steve have touched so many, many lives. Your friends and family will give you solace, now and support during the months to come. Know that I truly understand the devastation you feel at this moment and will keep you and your family in my daily prayers.

Over the course of the years, our family has taken three cats to see Steve. The first two were Garfield reincarnated. They literally just hung out while Steve looked them over, gave them their shots, and checked for weight gain. And then we brought in Socks... Steve barely had time to say "Well she's a pretty little thing" before he was simultaneously hissed at, scratched and bit on the hand. Without missing a beat, he picked her up, administered the shot and told us she was in fine form....
