From before he was Beak (5th or 6th grade) until I left home, Steve was my best friend. We were always on the move, "rammin' around", going as far as our bicycles could go. We were partners in crime, working on the great mysteries of life, like girls, cars & how to skip school w/o getting caught. His sense of humor carried us through a lot.
Steve was fundamentally a kind person & it was that kindness that shone through...
I miss you, Beak.

Namaste, Beak. I consider myself privileged to have gotten to know Steve several years ago, having met him through Earl, and having shared many thought-provoking, heartfelt conversations with him. For a short period of time, I served as an interim caregiver to Ella Mae, and I so admired Steve's dedication and caring toward his mother in her last years of life. It was a good run, Beak. I hope you find peace and truth in that better place. You are missed.

My deepest condolences are with you as you grieve. Steve always had a smile on his face and a genuine concern for others. He could always tell when I needed a little cheering up, and was more than happy to share a funny story with me. He was a wonderful man and will be sorely missed.

I graduated with Steve and last spoke to him at our last class reunion. It was good to hear that he was well, where he was working and the great job he was doing. I'm sure he will be missed.
I'm sorry for your loss.

There's no doubt my life would have been much different had "Beak" not been in it. I was glad to meet up with Steve a few years ago and admired his care and dedication to Ella Mae. May he finally rest in that Zen he was always searching to find. Heartfelt condolences to the family.
