Tim Conrad and family [email protected] send living thoughts to friends.

We will miss Steve very much. Although we did not get to see you two often, you have been our good friends for a long time. Steve was an intelligent, and thoughful gentleman, who always dressed sharply. Steve and Cathy together, were always humorous, and my wife and I enjoyed their company. It was only recently, that Steve spoke of his accomplished life, and not in a boastful way, but just as a matter of fact, of course we were very impressed. Cathy, I know that Steve was extremely happy...

Dear Schanes Family: We've never met, but I feel that I know you, from long ago. Steve's reports from Montclair during the 1960s (when we both worked at the Segal Co. in New York) were vivid in expressing his love and enthusiasm for his family. I delighted in working with him - he was smart and kind and wise - and he was a big help and a good friend to me, as a person who was a little younger and a lot less expert. In his company I recall encountering the heady feeling that we could figure...

Dearest Kathy, Christina & Family,
Rubber bridge is the activity that Steve and I shared. His gentle kindness and patience toward us little old ladies playing bridge each Monday at DeAnza Cove was extradordinary. We thank you for sharing your beloved Steven; please know we share in the despair of your loss.

"Sorrow is a tribute to a life that touched others deeply"

Steve has been a wonderful friend over the years. Although we didn't have much contact during the past few years, I have amazing memories of our running days, him being on my advisory board and his tales of family, friends, losing Chris and then meeting Kathy. My thoughts and prayers are for Kathy and the children, who will miss him greatly. He was a fun, honorable man with great social passion. What a loss.

Hi Kathy,
Just got the email about Steve. Charlie and I are so sorry to read of his passing. Steve had sent a brief email saying that he had surgery and would begin receiving email soon. We had no idea how seriously ill he was. Will keep you in our thoughts and prayers. Love, The Dawseys

Steve is a perfect example of a life well lived. He was a wonderful neighbor who will be greatly missed. Jim and I extend our sympathies and support to Kathy and his family.

To Kathy, Steve's family and freinds, I am sorry for your loss. It is amazing how little we know of people who live so close. Steve clearly had great love for Kathy, his family and his country. He will be sorely missed. My condolences to all.

Kathy - Steve was a wonderful man who lived an accomplished life. Take comfort in knowing you were a very special part of such a well-lived life.
