Not sure what to say?

I knew Steven Scholten from Allendale High he was my principal. Very nice hearted kind guy. He will truly be missed

Steve was a favorite teacher of mine at Union High. Then I had the privilege to work with him in Allendale. Prayers for his family.

I am so saddened by this news. Steve was my mentor at Allendale Public Schools. I owe my entire admin career to him. He was a colleague, advice giver, and great friend. Rest well until we meet again.

Steve was a kind, caring mentor for me in education. I will never forget him coming to Allendale from Rockford. He truly cared for the well being of his students. You have my deepest sympathy.

I had the pleasure of knowing Steve for the last 30+ years. Whether it was a get-together to watch the Spartans, a round of golf, or him sitting next to me in the press box or at the scorer's table, one thing was certain--I was going to laugh, a lot. (Often at my own expense). Steve was a prince of guy and he'll be sorely missed. Sending warm thoughts to Barb, Corrie and Sarah.

"It's a great day to be a Falcon" Steve cared for the students of Allendale. So sorry for your loss.

Mr.Scholten is one of the many reasons I was able to Graduate with my graduating class. He and several staff worked hard to get me the resources I needed to address my undiagnosed ADHD. Including requesting testing from the school psychologist. I will forever be great full to him. He truly believed in me and cared. As my tears stream down my face, know he will be greatly missed.

Barb, Corrie, and Sarah, I am so sorry for the loss of your wonderful husband and father. Nothing was more important to Steve than his family. His love for Barb, his amazing daughters and all his precious grandchildren was over the moon! The Hosford family has great memories of lots of wonderful spring breaks in Gulf Shores with the Scholtens! Much love and prayers for peace for your beautiful family.

I was really shocked and saddened by the news that Steve had passed. I have known Steve since kindergarten and have many memories from high school also. Played baseball and basketball together. There was one baseball game we were playing and Steve didn´t have his glasses and we shared during the game. Can´t hit if you can´t see the ball! Ran into him many times while officiating basketball and always enjoyed those times. Still thought of him often and will continue to do so. Tanya and I are...
