'91 touring the OK Air National Guard c130s

I roomed with Steven for three weeks at OSU's Aerospace Academy in June of 1991. GREAT GREAT GREAT GUY! We had an absolute blast for those three weeks! I can't even begin to explain the adventures we encountered in that short time. I didn't stay in contact with anyone afterwards, and just started looking people up about a month ago. Was shocked and saddened by the news of Steven even at 15 years after his passing. Though, as I read his bio I swelled with pride. Memories came flooding...

To the family and friends of Chief Warrant Officer Steven E. Shephard:
Please accept my remembrance of Steven on the anniversary of his passing and know that he will never be forgotten.

Always a friend to you and yours.

I will remember you more than just 1 day a year Stephen. You always had a smile or a joke to cheer someone up. You will always be missed my dear friend. Along with your beautiful wife and parents and family your friends will be sure that your beautiful wonderful daughter knows who you were and what you stood for. I pray that your family moves forward with only the memories of joy that you brought to their life and the lives of others. I also ask that if they ever need my help and I can help...

The flag is flying in the sky
A daily reminder of who and why
We sit here remembering them today
These heroes that now lie in their grave.

While here on earth, the bravest ones
A soldier, a mother, a daughter, a son
The father's who went far off to war
To ensure our safety and so much more

To keep our children happy and free,
Someone must do this job, you see
So, today remember the soldiers who served,
Because this is one...

Son, everyday I see your beautiful daughter makes me realize how much we both missed. But she is such a joy and has so much of your personality. She is happy, healthy and you would be so very proud of her. Some day I will see you again, and we will talk of her. Right now, I know you want me to be there for her, and I promise I will. Merry Christmas!!!

I miss you so much every day cuz, but deer season makes me miss you all the more. So many memories, so many good times.....so many stories I get to tell on you now. Luv ya brother!
