Not sure what to say?

My deepest condolences to Steven´s family and friends. He was always friendly and deeply inquisitive. It was always my delight to interact, which mainly revolved around bridge events, but we conversed on a wide array of topics. We were friends first at events (face to face, then since Covid more online), and partners and competitors. He was an astute learner of the game, very rapidly climbing the ladder of success. To Steve's Family, We are so shocked and saddened to hear this news about Steve's very sudden illness and death. We are sure the love of your family is overflowing and supportive at this time.

I knew Steve through the local bridge scene. We played against each other numerous times and I played with him one time when our regular partners were unavailable. He was smart, friendly, and forgiving ... all admirable qualities in general and especially in bridge. I am deeply surprised and saddened by this terrible news.

The NJ Bridge League and I extend our condolences to all who knew Steve.

To me, my uncle Steven will be remembered as a philosopher and humanist. He planted the seeds of thoughtful and provocative ideas - playfully questioning basic assumptions about the world, society, politics, fairness - when I was just the right age for those seeds to spout in my mind. Underneath it was a core idea: we should treat all humans fairly, support our community, and allow freedom of thought and speech. I am sorry for the tremendous loss.

I offer my deepest sympathy for your loss. May you take comfort in the memories of your many years together. -Gee Daily
