I was very saddened to learn of Steve's passing; I had exchanged emails with him only a few weeks ago. Steve and his family were always very gracious friends during our many years together with Optical Laboratories Association, and for many years after.

Shocked beyond words to hear about my friend passing away. We had been texting each other the day before. I met Steve in April of 1979. Our personal lives ran parallel in so many ways.
