Not sure what to say?

So sad to hear of Steve's passing. We lived across the street from each other for many years raising our children. We shared many stories, a few margarita's and lots of laughs. He will truly be missed. God Bless Emily and Justin.

I met Steve through his father many years ago, my Wife worked for Joe and when Joe would come to town for a visit we all went out to dinner together. We became good friends as we both worked in construction at that time. I remember doing work on his house and the rental many times. I was really shocked when I heard about his passing, especially at 53, thats just not right! I pray his family knows how much he was loved & he will not be forgotten. My God bless his soul and keep him close till we...

I only new Steve from my visits to the store and he always made anyone who passed through the door feel welcome, not just as a customer but as a friend. I would like to offer my condolences to his family and friends, he was one of those people you would never forget. He will certainly be in God's memory.

The veterans at Thousand Oaks Elks Lodge were just getting to know you, Steve, but we will never forget you. See you in heaven.

As all of the guest book comments note, Steve's untimely passing is a shock to all of his family and his countless friends. All noted his friendly, helpful, and kindly manner. I have had the honor of meeting Steve and bringing members of the culinary arts community to his store for product tasting demonstrations during the holidays. Steve was extremely generous to many organizations since the opening of his store. His donation of a large percentage of his store's sales to those many...

I am saddened by the unexpected loss that occurred much too soon of Steve. He was easily one of my favorite customers and I certainly enjoyed chatting with him at various wine and food events that we were both working. He was a kind man who loved his family and Ventura. He will be missed greatly.

My heart is with you, Colleen.

To Steve's Family: There are NO words to describe how profoundly Steve's loss will be felt. From the day he opened his unique Olive Oil store, Main St was blessed with his smile, his genuine kindness and his passion for our town! He raved about his kids and regaled us with stories about them, and his sweetheart and the concerts they went to. He and his store and staff, were one of the reasons to frequent downtown! I considered him a dear friend, and will always be proud to have interviewed...

I'm shocked to hear about the untimely death of my closest boyhood friend Steve Tobey. Steve was a dear soul and we had great times as children growing up on Densmore Ave. going fishing with his family and playing baseball on Modesto and the Twins at Encino Little Leauge.
My heatfelt condolences go out to Steve's parents Mary Lou and Joe as well as brother Glenn and sister Marla, and his children.
Steve will dwell in the hearts of many throughout eternity. God bless you Steve.
