I think of Steve every time I prepare Indian food. Madhur Jaffrey's Butterflied Leg of Lamb is a continuing go-to dinner in my house. So, yes, Steve and all his thoughtful recommendations in Jaffrey's cookbook were much in my mind this Thanksgiving.
His kindnesses will be remembered. My condolences to you.

Steve was a wonderful mentor a gifted teacher and a creative thinker. He leaves behind the gift of a better understanding of how the natural world works. I am sad that he is gone, but will keep him close in the many memories of my time as his student and the wisdom he shared with me.
