Not sure what to say?

Steve you are sorely missed. You were a good friend and a great Uncle to my children Dana and Cher. I know you and Pete and all our relative are together preparing the time when we all join you. Maybe you can teach Peter how to play poker and fish. He never got a hang of it down here. And Pete can give you advice on being a grandpa for your new grandson coming soon. We love you and miss you so much. Lyn

My family were close friends of Steve's parents in Winnebago in the late 60's. I was just a little tyke then, but Steve was my buddy and always so sweet to me. I remember watching him practice with his band in his parents' basement, and Steve would talk to me through the microphone, making me thing that there was a man trapped in the amplifier! I was very sorry to hear he had passed away, and enjoyed reading all the tributes here. I look forward to seeing him when I get to Heaven.

I just found out today of Steves passing over here in Stockholm Sweden. I could go on for a long time of Steves wonderful character, sense of humor, and being one who wouldnt mind going the distance for someone or something he cared about. It was a privledge being one of the Marericks with him over 20 years ago. I can think of 2 things that I will always remember Steve for. When I was in the Navy nearly 30 years ago he sent me a letter of his fishing on LOTW and it made me feel like I was...

Beautifully written obituary. I have not seen Steve since Chels and I were kids but I know he will be dearly missed. We will make a donation to the Muskie Alliance in honor of Steve. May his memory be eternal!

Steve was a good cousin and an even better guy. I haven't seen him enough in recent years, but his sense of honor and humor stayed strong.

Great fisherman, great man. I'm going to miss you buddy.

Steve was one of the kindest and most generous men I've known. I had the good fortune to be there when Steve as a 'Maverick' took on the 'old guard' of MI knowing that derision and scorn would be his reward. He was in the vanguard of the nascent 'catch and release' movement within MI. He led and carried the rest of us and would not be deterred. He introduced me to LOTW in the mid 80's. A gift that I'll always cherish. Although he's gone his legacy will live on forever. I and so many others...

I'm really going to miss Steve. Glad he was a part of my life. RIP buddy.

Steve was one of the best men Ive ever known, he was a great friend and a person who always understood how important family and friends were. I am a lucky man to have been his friend. Not one day will go by without me thinking of him. Rest In Peace Muskiemachinery, keep a spot open for me in the boat brother.
