On May 23, 1932, Steven Haze Wiley was born in Sharon, Pennsylvania, to the late Robert Wiley and Callie Bell Wiley.  He peacefully left this earthly place on May 22, 2024, at home with his wife.   



Pastor Steven H. Wiley entered the Armed Forces serving four years three months in the U.S. Air Force, completing a tour of duty in Korea during the Korean conflict. Pastor Wiley was licensed June 11, 1962 and ordained in 1966 at the House of Prayer under the authority of Union Baptist Church, and the late Rev. I.L. Gaither was his Pastor. Pastor Wiley graduated from the World Bible Institute, Los Angeles, California, with a Master of Divinity Degree and Ephriam Manasseh Bible School, Aliquippa, Pennsylvania. After two years of Evangelist work, Pastor Wiley accepted his Call to Pastor three different Church’s over 40 years, First Baptist Church in Freedom, Pennsylvania; St. Paul Baptist Church in New Castle, PA; with his last Pastorship Calling from The Lord, lead him to Pastor St. Stevens Baptist Church in Stevensburg, VA.  In 1995 he retired from FasTran Transportation of Fairfax, Virginia.


He leaves to mourn his wife Velma Larraine Dennis; from this union, two daughters Ms. Charlene Ashby of Woodbridge, Virginia and Mrs. Carmen (Braddock) Boyd of Fredericksburg, Virginia; three Grands, Larraine (Nicholas) Denise Peele and Sydney Boyd, and Nicholas Boyd.  Extended family: Raymond (Masai) Wiley, Steve “Skippy” (Brenda) Wiley, Ann Wiley, Susan (Ronald) Keys, Shirelle (Arthur) Shepherd and Grandchildren Jarrett, Erin Justine and Bill.  


A legacy of loved ones to include nieces, nephews, children in His Gospel/Ministry, cousins, friend, many, many children in many churches and friends


In addition to his parents, Pastor Wiley is being reunited in Heaven with a daughter, Lesley Lashon; son, Jesse Moss, two sisters, Evelyn Wright, Mary Ann Beach; three brothers, Charles, Elmer and Robert Wiley.


A visitation for Pastor Wiley will be held on Saturday, June 1, 2024, at St. Stevens Baptist Church, 19075 York Road, Stevensburg, VA 22741 at 12:00 PM, followed by a homegoing service at 1:00 PM. His final earthly resting place will be held on Monday, June 3, 2024, at Quantico National Cemetery, Quantico, VA, at 1:00 PM.
